At M&G, we prioritize responsible and conscious sourcing practices. We partner with local farmers and suppliers who share our commitment to sustainable agriculture and ethical practices. By sourcing seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, we reduce our carbon footprint and support our local communities. Additionally, we strive to build long-lasting relationships with our suppliers, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout our supply chain.

Since its inception in 2013 we are proud to say our Drop Off Catering setup has been free of single-use plastics. This means no plastic water bottles, plastic food containers or plastic cutlery. We use only biodegradable and compostable packaging made from renewable resources with no added chemicals, waxes, or harmful additives. Through partnering with sustainable packaging suppliers, we are minimizing our environmental impact and waste which are produced from harmful plastics that can’t naturally degrade.

we COMPOST

Our composting initiative is an integral part of our environmental efforts, allowing us to responsibly manage organic waste and divert it from landfills. Through composting, food scraps and organic materials are transformed into nutrient-rich soil, which can then be used to enrich gardens and support local agriculture. By incorporating composting into our operations, we not only minimize our environmental footprint but also contribute to the health and vitality of our communities.

MINIMIZING WASTE

We take proactive measures to minimize waste throughout our operations. From careful menu planning to efficient inventory management, we strive to reduce excess food production and avoid unnecessary waste. Additionally, we utilize trimmings and leftovers creatively in items like our house-made superfood tonic, vegetable fritters and daily baked focaccia ensuring that every ingredient is used to its full potential.

SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY

We are committed to supporting our community and sustainability initiatives on both local and global scales. We frequently donate excess food to local shelters and organizations like the Bowery Mission, Henry Street Settlement and local food fridges ensuring that no edible food goes to waste. On a global scale, we support sustainability initiatives by partnering with organizations that focus on environmental conservation and social responsibility such as tist.org. M&G worked with Tist to plant over 20,000 to support groups of subsistence farmers as they combat poverty, deforestation, and climate change through tree planting.
